What it is
The Mobi-C Cervical Disc is one of the most popular cervical disc implants used by many surgeons. Since the first implant in 2004, there are now over 40,000 implants made in 25 countries. In the US, the FDA approved the product in 2013 after a successful clinical trial.
Mobi-C has a patented mobile bearing technology, which adapts to the cervical spine’s natural motion. Additionally, more patients did not demonstrate adjacent segment degeneration (ASD), which is common after spine surgery. In many cases, it is a surgical complication often seen below or above the surgery site. Mobi-C procedures have fewer instances of ASD in patients. For those who had Mobi-C, they were able to return to work 21 days earlier than those who had an ACDF procedure.
